FRANK THOMAS

President

Frank joined Vision Property Management in 2018 where his responsibility is to manage the day-to-day strategic operations of the company and prepare it for future growth and expansion. He has worked in and around the real estate and construction industry since 2003, most notably as a vice president for Ryland Homes (now Lennar Corporation), a Fortune 500 company and one of the nation’s largest homebuilders. Prior to that, Frank began his professional career at Deloitte, the world’s largest professional services firm, where he worked as a senior auditor in the assurance and advisory services function of the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Frank is a 1999 graduate of the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (License #88667) in the State of California. His passion is business, and he has an insatiable and relentless desire to inspire, encourage & empower his team and company to meet the needs of an ever-changing and diverse marketplace.

His family and faith are cornerstones for all that he does in business and life. Frank has been married to his wife for 12 years and, together, they are raising two beautiful children. Whenever Frank’s not working or spending time with his family, you can find him on one of several local golf courses working on his slice.

CARLOS VELIZ

Founder/Advisor

Carlos Veliz, started in property management as an accountant at Santa Monica Corporation, an affordable housing company in Los Angeles with more than 5,000 units under management. After 4 years in accounting, Carlos decided to move up in the property management department and started supervising multi-family unit buildings in West Los Angeles and Downtown L.A. From 2002 to 2007, Carlos supervised over 2,000 multi-family units for Sebren Development.

From 2009 to 2011 and in the beginning of the recession, Carlos worked as an Asset Manager for Rose Group and Leonard Glickman buying distressed assets, including apartment buildings in Phoenix, Austin, Dallas and Sacramento. Buildings in class C status were converted into class B and A buildings. Carlos hired management and construction teams to stabilize all assets, increased rents, and over 4,000 units were sold to a REIT in 2011.

In 2012, Carlos Veliz worked for Redwood Mortgage as an asset manager in disposing all multifamily buildings in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Hayward. Carlos finalized all capital improvements, increased rents, reduced expenses, and disposed over 1,000 units in one year.

After a long successful career in property management, Carlos started his construction company, and in 2016 following his asset management passion, Vision Property Management was born. In his free time, Carlos loves cooking and eating top-notch Peruvian food, venturing to new local restaurants, and coaching his son’s soccer team. Carlos has a B.S. in Business Law from California State of Northridge.

JAIME SANFORD

Vice President of Marketing

Jaime’s 7+ years in marketing have allowed her to sharpen her skills in everything from social media and promotional events, to email marketing and managing websites. She has a diverse marketing background, ranging from non-profits to start-ups, gaining unique knowledge and experiences from each. She has overseen an extensive array of traditional and digital advertising campaigns with budgets ranging from hundreds of dollars to half a million dollars.

She enjoys the challenge of finding creative and innovative ways to promote products and services in an ever-changing marketing landscape. On her days off, she loves watching live music, cooking, and exploring all the outdoor activities the Bay Area has to offer! Jaime has a B.S. from the University of Arizona, a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Shaw Academy, and a Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University.

Michelle McFarren started her management career in 2005 from the bottom up. In 2012 she took on several of Redwood Mortgage’s largest buildings (40+ units) in Northern CA, working closely with Carlos Veliz to renovate each unit and sell for large profits. This growing passion for nurturing and building a community from the ground up sparked a new venture for Michelle, leading her to the East Bay to take on 3 of Redwood’s larger luxury developments, in Hayward, CA.

She has directly managed over 200 units in the East Bay and participated in full renovations and lease up of properties, increasing those investments. Michelle desires to nurture each owner’s investment by developing the encouragement of togetherness with tenants & boosting community spirit within each portfolio managed. When not in the office, Michelle is a big foodie, enjoys Oakland City’s Farmers Markets, loves spending time with her family & neighbors in Maxwell Park.

MICHELLE MCFARREN

ASHLEY ELSON

Director of Maintenance
 
 A shley has 17 years experience in customer service, with the last 6 of those being in maintenance and asset management with AvalonBay Communities in San Jose. Her previous position as maintenance manager allowed her to ensure that both tenant and owner needs were being satisfied, and she brings those same strengths and enthusiasm to Vision.

She has overseen everything related to residential maintenance including budgets, recruiting and hiring, policies and procedures, diagnosis and repair of property issues, and the training and management of maintenance technicians. Her passion is affecting positive change in those around her. She believes in giving her clients all she has and providing them with the best service possible. She is a Bay Area native, growing up in the South Bay. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.

 

 

 

 

Amanda started her career in property management in 2013 for a property management firm in the East Bay Area. Through her time with the company she took over many important roles in the company and handled accounting and supervising the management of 450+ properties. She developed a passion for taking care of owner’s investment properties, treating them as if they were her own and assisting tenants with their day to day issues. In 2015, she graduated from California State East Bay with a degree in accounting. She came to Vision Property Management for a fresh start with a new innovative company where she can grow her real estate and accounting career. She enjoys spending time with her family, finding things to do throughout the Bay Area, and loves spending time outdoors. You will often find her in Oakland at Lake Merritt or in San Francisco on her days off.

 

AMANDA ALBERT

SID CHAPMAN

Property Manager

Sid Chapman took a strong interest in real estate in 2009 while working as a paralegal for a boutique law firm in San Francisco. Sid’s interest was driven by his belief that most landlord tenant issues can be prevented with just a little care and proper management of assets.

Sid worked for a large affordable housing property management company and assisted with the acquisitions process, facilities management and internal operational efficiencies. He moved on to managing large Bay Area residential development projects, real estate investments and building operations teams for property management companies.

Prior to joining the team here at Vision, Sid was the Director of Resident Experience for a real estate tech startup in San Francisco. He helped a lean team in making the company profitable which attracted Series A investors.

Sid comes to Vision with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science Pre Law from California State University East Bay.

After a brief pit stop in Los Angeles for academia, Kris is back in his beloved hometown of Oakland, California. He studied Economics at the University of California Los Angeles where he got his first formal introduction to Real Estate Finance and Investments.

Before venturing into the world of real estate full time, Kris tried his hand at creating a social enterprise benefiting homeless youth in the Bay Area. Passionate about the area and people, the move to leasing was a natural fit. He takes pride in bringing joy to residents that only a new home can. When he is not hosting open houses and private viewings, you can most likely find him talking to some of Oakland’s most motivated high schoolers or on a local golf course.

ESTEFANI MONTES

E stefani brings a breadth of customer service and management experience to Vision Property Management. She began her career in operations in the retail industry, where she developed a particular skill set and passion for exceeding customer expectations. Upon finishing her studies, she utilized her organizational skills in an administrative capacity for a              financial advisor. This is where she first gained experience with the financial aspects of property ownership. Upon joining Vision Property Management, she has made a  valuable contribution to tenant and owner communication, in addition, to ensuring that the office runs effectively and efficiently. This has helped the company maintain the highest level of client satisfaction. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son and is an appreciator of music as a violinist.
